Ancestors, edited
by Joan Marler, is an extensive anthology in honor of Gimbutas.
Over sixty contributors range from archaeologists to linguists
to geneticists to artists, poets, and ritual makers. Reading
it, I was struck by both the depth and scope of her knowledge
and the broad spectrum of people she influenced. Joan Marler
has done an enormous job collecting, arranging, editing and framing
this amount of material. I (Starhawk) am proud to have an article

The World of the Goddess,
a video that features a lecture given by Marija and many images
of the ancient figurines, appears to be unavailable new, but you
may be able to still find it occasionally. Search

workshops, and interviews are available on audiocassette and

The Joseph
Campbell and Marija Gimbutas Library, located on the campus
of Pacifica Graduate Institute, is "a non-profit educational
organization dedicated to the preservation of a unique collection
of manuscripts, books, and memorabilia from two of the twentieth
century's most influential cultural scholars: Joseph Campbell
and Marija Gimbutas. "
Both Marija's and Starhawk's
works have frequently been featured as part of San Francisco's
CIIS Public Lectures and Workshops program. The California Institute of Integral Studies
is a unique independent institution of higher learning based
in San Francisco dedicated to integrating theoretical knowledge,
personal experience, and spiritual wisdom. CIIS offers innovative
accredited graduate programs in psychology, philosophy, religion,
and cultural studies; including a Women's Spirituality program leading to a
PhD in Humanities, Concentration in Philosophy, Religion, Emphasis
in Women's Spirituality; or an MA in Philosophy Religion, Concentration
in Women's Spirituality. Also available are an on-line program
in learning and change; and a B.A. completion program.
